RNAseq analysis of males and females from a population with varying degrees of genetic differentiation between the X and the Y chromosomes.
Illumina reads have been obtained from 5 different types of R. temporaria samples.
As a first step, we are making a master transcriptome using all types of samples and annotating it using information from the Xenopus and Nanorana genomes. This should be a useful resource for many related bioinformatics projects.
As a second step, we will use the master assembly to count the reads from different samples and perform RNAseq analysis to investigate gene expression differences between the samples and the interplay with the sex variable determination system.
