Splitter AI
Solitter ai is a service that allows to separate the voice and the instruments from a song. It is done through AI, and is magical.
I was interested in the music, for karaoke reasons, but a friend mentioned the potential to make Frankenstein songs with the extracted voices, which is apparently a favourite activity among DJs.
Nefta football club
The most original film amongst the live action shorts that were nominated for the 2020 Oscars was Nefta football club. It is available on Vimeo. Easily my favourite from the selection this year.

Electric hurdy gurdy
I recently had the pleasure of hearing Guilhem Desq perform live.
Here is an example of the amazing sounds he can produce.
And here is a much softer song, about a dragonfly falling in love with a tree.
What is nice about the videos is that they show the complexity of the instrument, which has a dragon on one side.
You can listen to more of his songs from the soundcloud addon on his website.
Athens Portrait
Here is a nice video showing the capital of Greece. From the description in Vimeo:
The film is a homage to the capital of Greece. It features hyperlapse, timelapse and drivelapse cinematography of the urban area and the skyline of "το κλεινόν άστυ" / the glorious city. Shot almost entirely from the highest rooftops, hills and mountains at night, the film explores the urban core, the city center and beyond.
Worth watching in a 5 min break.

Ronig rebetika
I recently came across Christian Ronig, a German guy who seems to love rebetika songs, i.e. Greek songs from 2 generations ago. He has translated and modified some of them to a different style, which still captures the original essense. It is quite interesting to see what a person with completely different influences sees in a different culture. I think he does a great job.
He has an album named “Greece is mine”, here is one of the songs (morning in minor). Youtube has some more which might brighten your day.
